A MARRIAGE MADE IN HEAVEN

THE WEDDING KISS!!

How do I know they are married you may ask??

I was there.

My children were actually the celebrants at the marriage of Maverick to Chloe.

They got married on our trampoline.

It has now been blessed.

but they didn't have a honeymoon.

AND THE MEANING IS??

And the meaning is-

"PSALTERY"

An ancient instrument that is played by plucking strings.

Angel said- Psaltery & Vinegar is what you have on your chips.

Gill thinks it's just plain salty along with Cabbage who thinks it may be the salt factory.

Lisha said another word for assualt. (Good one Lisha)

I was thinking along the lines of the salt thing to, then rethinking I thought Maybe the weather might just be a bit "psaltery" (Sultry) as it is at the moment!!

Thank you for playing see you all again next week - same day same place.

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!

Sorry not much posting here of late, but bear with me and hopefully things shall return to normal once school starts back next Tuesday.

Work has been busy, as well as the run around getting school supplies, new uniforms etc. Lane starts high school this year & is very nervous about it. So nervous in fact that he has given himself a dose of diarrhoea.

Lane had a specialist appointment yesterday and they checked his eyes again. He has very good eyesight that we knew, but we also knew that the muscles around his eyes weren't doing their job properly. This makes it really hard for him to focus on something and then refocus on another thing. It means to copy off the board is horrendous for him or if he lifts his head from the book he is reading it takes awhile to re find his place. This is a common problem in Autistic/Aspergers children as poor muscle tone is common.

Anyway we have done extensive therapy for this in the past but alas it has not worked. So now the next step is glasses but with special lenses that will help him with this but not affect his sight which is good. (If that makes sense)

Lane has only to wear these while reading, doing models or anything intricate and probably only for 2-3yrs. He is not very happy so hopefully he will see results early on and be encouraged by that. I think it's a very hard time for a child to have to wear glasses, just about to start high school & becoming a teen.
I have been dropping in and reading a few blogs even if I have not commented much of late.
Hope you all have a lovely day today

FLOWERS

Well looking at the first picture your probably baffled on why this post is titled "Flowers"

Easy let me explain.
Today I was cleaning & re-arranging things "as you do" and thought I would put some of my utensils next to the stove. Wooden in one, Stainless Steel in the other.
So I grabbed these two pottery vases that I got from Spain. I've had them for years & have always filled them full of blooms. They do the job perfectly & are just the right size for my needs.

So now I will be using this clear glass vase that I have had in the cupboard and never used.
The only thing that worries me is, Sometimes I am not the best at changing the water.
Aggh yuk. You know what I mean it ends up looking like compost soup. At least the pottery vases hid my domestic weakness!!

Anyway suppose I'll have to wait for someone to give me flowers to try my new/old glass vase out.
Hint Hint.
I think Valentines Day is soon maybe I will have a secret admirer??

SUMMER FUN!!

What a lovely way

to spend a hot summers day.

out on the water.......

I was reading the statistics of my blog who reads what etc etc.

I was not surprised to see that my favourite post among Aussies was my post on Water skiing. Us Aussies simply love our water & water sports. Just look at our Olympic swim team. (gloating is not nice is it!! being proud is!!)

What surprised me though was that my favourite post in the good old U.S.A was a very simple post I did on my cat labeled "MARMALADE CATS"

Are ginger cats very popular in the states??

Can someone please let me know on this one, it is baffling me.

AND THE MEANING IS???

"TRIUMVIRATE"

Pronounced -Try-umm-vir-rit.

meaning a group of three people in joint control.

But now I know the correct meaning it just sounds like trouble to me. I mean c'mon how can you possibly have THREE people in joint control. How many bosses are in your family(Mum's Rule)
So my meaning must be Trouble!!

Lisha says the meaning is - Some kind of immunisation

Mari says the meaning is an unbeatable virus that has chased you off to bed!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today Mari I hope you enjoyed playing Wednesday's Word and come again to play next week!! Had a quick sneak over to your blog shall return again soon.

And lets not forget the little cabbage that seems to think it is a new Pharmaceutical name for Viagra. Now that really cracked me up. I hope no prescriptions are written out for this one you wouldn't know if you were going to receive a immunisation or a Viagra pill. Could be a worry. Failing that you would come down with a terrible virus.

Thanks once again for playing see you same time same place next week for Wednesday's Word.

VISITING GRAN

If my Mother had of been in this photo it would have been 4 generations.

On the weekend we visited Granny. (My Granny, My Children's Great Granny)

I tell the kids how lucky they are to have a Great Granny so many people never get to meet their Great Grandparents. I never did!!

Casey got in trouble for not wearing his Army uniform for her, we tried to explain that it's like any other uniform, you only wear it while working.(She didn't buy it, we're still in trouble)
The Army is so important to her because of the era she grew up in.

I remember Granny swimming laps of her pool, mowing the lawn like a whirlwind or working on the property that they owned, up the top of fruit trees picking fruit from some precarious placed ladder.
Granny brought me up I have the softest spot for my Gran.

When she heard we were coming to visit she wanted us to take her to McDonalds she said she hadn't been there for a few years!!LOL

Gran still lives in her own home but does not cook or clean for herself anymore, she tells me she is not getting put away where the old people go!!

More often now she tells me things that I know are incorrect she just told me that she bought a particular house for 250 pounds. I know that she bought this house in 1981, we had been using $$ for nearly 20yrs by then.

This never seems to upset me when I hear other "oldies" slip up however I am really upset when I hear Gran do it although I try not to be. I have to try very hard not to correct her as then she either gets upset or thinks I am telling stories!!

Sometimes though she still remembers occasions I have since forgotten.

Isn't the mind a mysterious thing.

THE 23rd PSALM

I recently saw this in a book I was reading. The book was written by a Priests wife.

Not quite the 23rd Psalm that I am accustomed to and bearing in mind I don't usually go for adaptions, but this certainly gave me "fuel for thought" as a busy Mother/Homemaker.

The 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my pace setter I shall not rush

He makes me stop for quiet intervals

He provides me with images of stillness which restore my serenity

He leads me in the ways of efficiency through calmness of mind

And His guidance is peace.

Even though I have a great many things to

accomplish each day I will not fret For His presence is here

His timelessness, His all importance will keep me in balance.

He prepares refreshment and renewal in the midst of my activity.

By annointing my mind with His oils of tranquillity,

my cup of joyous energy overflows.

Truly harmony and effectiveness shall be the fruits of my hours,

For I shall walk in the pace of my Lord and dwell in His house forever.

AND THE MEANING IS????

Maybe I shouldn't tell you all the correct meaning because the ones you make are so much funnier. Every time I do this, reading your comments gets me into fits of laughter.

"TROGLODYTE"

Meaning - A Cave Dweller.

WARNING - Some husbands may closely resemble this.

No not you MelMel, you must not call your husband that not after the way he spoils you.

I especially liked Lea of Farmhouse Blessings answer - Someone we dated when younger and wished we hadn't. (I can relate to that one, Maybe I was the Troglodyte Queen LOL!!)

How about Lisha from Earth Walker Family she always plays along with this and is an excellent dictionary writer.

Today she consulted her boys on this & they think "Something to do with Pokemons"

Not just any Pokemon but a golden coloured one with sparkle powers!! Well duh what else!!

Thinking along the same lines we thought something to do with the evil wizard out of the smurfs.

THANKS to everybody that played along today be back with more dictionary re-writing next week for Wednesday's Word.

Have a lovely evening/day wherever you are

SANTA'S BEEN & GONE

Chloe formed quite an attachment to our little knitted Santa this year.

I bought him out of the op-shop for a $1.
