Ha ha No your not Donna the only stupid question is the question not asked.
It's a surf rescue board +floats that the lifesavers put out on the beach in readiness for them to grab quickly in an emergency.
In Australia we have patrolled(where the lifesavers are) & unpatrolled beaches of course it is safer to swim where the lifesavers are specially if your an inexperienced surf swimmer. Caroline
Hello Caroline I wondered myself what it was - had to open and enlarge and stare at the photo to make it out lol Are they actually locked and left beside the lifeguards 'spot' or just placed randomly along the beach? Thanks for you topic suggestions - taking them onboard for the future. I do read your blog in my reader but more often than not don't have time to comment.
