A Sleep Study

Please think of
my darling daughter Emerald

Whose health has been deteriorating for a while now, more rapidly as the year has progressed. It has been increasingly difficult with her having to complete her Senior studies & a Trainee ship she has had through her part-time job.

We have finally found a doctor that was willing to refer her for a sleep study, this is something that I have wanted for a while but most doctors are reluctant to send young people for them.

It is just NOT normal, some days if I was to leave her she would sleep 16-18hrs. She is finding it harder & harder to concentrate & retain memory of the things she is doing. Not good, for a normally high achieving student.

The photos are of Em getting "wired up" ready for her sleep study. These are only about 1/3 of the wires that she ended up having to wear. She also had them on her body & legs.
Her sleep study was done just before we went on holidays
so we are anxiously awaiting her results.

Be back soon to let you know how it all goes, otherwise, back to the drawing board!!
Caroline xoxo

Maybe, a little prayer -if that is what you do. Thank you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Emerald. I know what it's like trying to get to the bottom of things, you just have to keep trying different avenues that work. Here's hoping the right avenue is just around the corner for Emerald.

I was refferred to a sleep study so Quickley I am surprised it is such a big thing....They should just refer...No harm done!
Well now that she is all wired I hope the results show something....Not a serious something though.
All the best and I will be praying!

I thought it would be easy to get a referal too!! especially as you don't even have to pay for them -being a medicare bulk billed item.
The Dr's don't seem to think she needs one because she is only 17. On the other hand I'm just doing a process of elimanation till we find something. Blood tests are all clear.

Thank you Lisha & Kylie for your kind thoughts!!

Gee Caroline hope that Emerald is okay.

Hopefully the tests find something out for you both.

Could it be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME)?

This is something that is hard to diagnose.

Wishing you all the best, and saying a prayer for you.

It does sound like chronic fatigue, I hope they get it sorted out soon and that you get the results back quickly. Take Care.

My daughter who is your daughter's age was doing Year 11 and hospitality course, and a few weeks ago she got eczema really bad. It is not funny after all these years to see them sick when they have been well.

A worrying time for you no doubt.
