The Pumpkin & Gourd Harvest

The cold weather we have had has just about killed off the Pumpkin vine and the Gourd vine has already finished.
SO......time to harvest. I am in-visioning Hot Pumpkin Soup on a chilly night.YUM!

But...the gourds does anyone know what to do with them??

Wow that's quite a crop you have there. Pumpkin curry, roast pumpkin, pumpkin soup, pumpkin scones, ooh there's lots you could do. I'm afraid I have no idea how to cook with the gourds though.

Go to "Down to Earth" on Blogger. She grows gourds. I think she uses as sponges for dishes and body and gifts. She also says you can eat them a bit like cucumbers when they are younger.

gourds-you can eat them when they are young and -let them dry -and shake them-the seeds rattle-but you know that -I'm sure :-)
