WISHING!!
About this time of winter I wish for the long hot summer of lazy days spent on the beach. Now don't get me wrong I love winter. Cold days spent rugged up eating to much "soul food" and watching dvd's. Day's where you have an excuse to stop work early just because you have run out of daylight & the best bit of all -being able to dress up in beanies/hats scarves & other scrummy clothes.
But for now, TODAY anyway..... this chic has decided she has had enough of winter the beach is calling me, might have to go this weekend. Not to swim(to cold bbrr!!) but just to sit and watch the waves come crashing in to shore.
Whatever you do this weekend....I hope it's a good one

SUNDAY FISHING
It's one of my favourite places to go, the weather was beautiful and as you can see Emerald was the one that caught all the fish today. Beautiful fresh bream caught in a nice little gutter in the surf where they come into feed. We caught them on just a little bit of left over raw chicken thigh that I had so it really will be a lovely fresh, frugal costing dinner tonight.

SHIPS ARE FEMALES-ALWAYS
Just a little light hearted read for you!!
WHY IS A SHIP CALLED A SHE?
A ship is called a 'she' because there is always a great deal of bustle around her;
there is usually a gang of men about,
she has a waist and stays;
it takes a lot of paint to keep her good looking;
it is not the initial expense that breaks you, it is the upkeep;
she can be all decked out;
it takes an experienced man to handle her correctly;
and without a man at the helm, she is absolutely un-controllable.
She shows her topsides, hides her bottom and,
when coming into port, always heads for the buoys.

BEACHCOMBERS WEEKEND
This is the beach where we found all our treasures that are on my last post.
I did think of naming this post "Why I Live where I Live"
Why do you live where you live?? Tell me?? If you do a post let me know!!
We love to go up here of a weekend & camp on the beach @ the base of these cliffs.
The small dots on the beach are the cars.
The small dots on the beach are the cars.
Often from this spot you can look down and see turtles bobbing around.
This day we saw two. Sometimes you can even see a shark that has come in to feed on the small fish that hang around the rocks.
Heading down the beach to look for a good spot to set up camp.
The breathtaking view from up on top. If you look closely at the lowest
rock there are two people fishing.
This is a great place to do a spot of Whale watching.
AWESOME!!

BEACHCOMBING
BEACHCOMBER (noun) - Person who searches shore debris for anything of worth. (And may I add natural beauty)
Barnacle encrusted coconut from some faraway tropical Isle.

The biggest jelly fish I have ever seen

And just as the sun rises over the ocean I stumble upon the most precious find
2 little sea urchins.
Think I'll take this pair home and LOve'em to bits!!
The biggest jelly fish I have ever seen
from being stranded
Brings back painful childhood
memoirs of being enveloped in their nasty tentacles
And just as the sun rises over the ocean I stumble upon the most precious find
2 little sea urchins.
Think I'll take this pair home and LOve'em to bits!!

Life's a Beach
Spring is sprung and summer will soon be here.The weather has been so lovely in our neck of the woods.
One of our favourite summer pastimes(like most Aussies) is going to the beach.See the gorgeous photo of Emerald,Lane-Austin & Chloe the Jack Russell.However this year will be a bit different for us with Casey not being here.
After a long swim and a play on the beach we like to wander along the beachfront, ice cream dripping in hand.Then as the sun begins to set we sit in the park overlooking the ocean eating our traditional "Fish & Chips".We all arrive home tired and contented,salty and sandy where the kids begin the mad dash for first in the shower.
Last year Grandad gave us 2 kayak's, so this added another avenue of fun for our beach days. Of course kids being kids they picked it up straight away. Paddling off into the sea with Mum on the shore yelling instructions not to go to far,watch for jet skis etc. etc. Alas I think the wind must of been blowing the wrong way as they didn't seem to hear.Now maybe this year I'll tell them about the sharks.
